The layering of clouds in the atmosphere mirrors the slower layering in the rocks of the North Pennine cyclothems. The interface of land and sky is where it matters for us- it's the only place we can live effectively. Up above the clouds humans transit in the perpetual sunshine of Airbus and Boeing land.
The atmosphere passes through our bodies as food and oxygen as it does through all the plants, animals and jet aeroplanes. So too the minerals of the land surface in the form of food and metals. The water flows from sky to land and back and through our bodies and jet engines, so we're in this nexus which is felt closely up in the peat bogs of the North Pennines.
